Sweet, kind, and inquisitive. Each child that enters my speech room has strengths and capabilities. My students love coming to speech because we tap into their strengths to make them feel successful each and every session. They often struggle with basic communication skills. Many of my students do not have any forms of technology at home and speech would be a wonderful place to learn to use an ipad. It would be so great for them to be able to develop their speech skills using technology.
My Project
Help me give my students an iPad so they can access technology while enhancing their communication skills.
Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation.
The students I service need support in many areas of speech and language. I work with the students to support articulation, expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language skills. Service models have changed over the last 20 years that I have been a speech teacher. By incorporating technology in the speech room each student will be able to access a variety of apps to improve their communication skills. There are many apps to develop social, expressive, receptive, and articulation skills.
