Every student in my class is diagnosed with a disability. With any diagnosis, it is common for these children to struggle with communication. During Covid, there was a decline in interactions and the accessibility to have communication exposure. With the supplies requested, my students will have quicker access to visuals they may need to express themselves. We could pinpoint something they request in their everyday life and have it quickly available. It is easy to take for granted the ability to communicate. We would use the printer and cardstock paper in the class to quickly print visuals and then to laminate the visuals. The snacks and drinks will be used at incentives to motivate the desire to communicate. I anticipate this project will alleviate frustrations and reduce behaviors among the children in my class. I want to give them the best chances to succeed and to communicate with anyone around them.
