Help me give my students iPads to use as functional communication devices and critical instructional tools!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. White's classroom raised $1,977
This project is fully funded
My Students
I teach in a self-contained special education room in a high poverty elementary school where 96% of students qualify as economically disadvantaged.
I teach a group of 10 eager learners, grades PreK-4, with a variety of academic, social, and developmental needs.
Technology is crucial in engaging my students, in particularly those who are non-verbal due to their exceptionalities. With the communication apps available on iPads, my students could easily communicate their basic needs, increasing their quality of life, and better demonstrate their mastery of academic content.
My Project
Technology is essential in teaching successful special education classes. Each student functions at their own level, has their own set of strength, and has specific needs.
iPads function as excellent communication devices that allow students to communicate their needs, learn new content, and demonstrate what they know.
Students will be able to use iPads to better communicate throughout the school community and to spend more time learning. Straps will allow students to keep their iPads with them at all times, ensuring that they are used consistently.
Additional materials requested will help make the classroom more sensory friendly so that students will spend less time attempting to regulate their sensory needs and more time learning.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
