Help me give my students the tools needed to build their communication skills! Printing personalized, unique and engaging materials for each student is my dream. The laminator will allow me to protect and embellish my already printed documents.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a Speech Language Pathologist for a self-contained program and general education in a Title I District. Despite the many challenges that our students face, they come to school every day with smiles on their faces and excited to learn. My students are resilient, kind, and hard working. Due to the craziness of COVID-19, not all of our students are coming to school every day and we are tasked with doing teletherapy, while simultaneously managing our in-person students.
I am looking to make both our in-person classrooms and home “classrooms” an environment that is exciting, engaging, and accessible for our students to learn, create, grow and communicate.
Working in an urban school district is something that I am very passionate about. I want to make a difference in the lives of my students, no matter the cost. During this pandemic, it is even more imperative that we as educators give our students our all and do the best we can to make learning “normal.” Your donations will improve the effectiveness of my therapy to both my online and virtual students.
My Project
The color printer will allow me to print more materials and provide my students with personal communication boards and books. These materials will make all the difference in the lives of my students. It allows them to have personal schedules, earn charts, communication boards and increase their overall independence. This project will help give my students the materials they need to build their communication skills!
The support levels for each of my students varies from child to child.
Some of my students are verbal, while others have limited verbal skills and communicate through pictures or signs. Some of my students are higher functioning, while others are lower functioning. Some are more independent, while others require hand over hand assistance for most tasks. Printing personalized, unique and engaging materials for each student is my dream.
The laminator will allow me to protect and embellish my already printed documents. It will allow me to send materials home with confidence that they will withstand the normal wear and tear of life. The laminator will allow my materials to be wiped clean and reused.
