Communicate Thru Shapes

Help me give my students with autism the ability to communicate in different forms such as play, expression, and creativity!

My Project

My students learn best thru multi-sensory opportunities! The items selected for our classroom can help them achieve that. The magnetic tiles and lego letters will be used in many ways.

Since we use many teaching strategies to help our students these items can help with counting, color identification, storytelling, and most importantly expression!

The possibilities are endless. You can learn a lot about your students by observing their creativity and allowing them to create without using words as most of my students are non-verbal.

Since COVID-19 we have struggled with absences, masks - not allowing to be close for one-on-one teaching, social-emotional skills, and learning loss. Everyone has been affected and we need to adjust and help our students express themselves the best they can. By using STEM items, they can accomplish this thru role-playing and giving us a valuable insight into their mind.
