My class is filled with a wonderfully diverse group of students with one thing in common: A thirst for knowledge!
My students are from a public school in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
We are blessed to be located in a generous and involved community. When it comes to LAUSD funding however, we are at times left without some things that would help to make our educational program even more wonderful.
My Project
The students will be able to use the MacBook Air we are requesting in many ways. They will be able to practice reading fluency using our online lexia learning website. They will be able to practice math skills and other literacy skills using the mobymax website. The students will be able to log in and take reading exams through our AR program. Many of these programs are not currently accessible with our current classroom technology.
I am also focused on trying to update our curriculum and daily lessons with a variety of resources to make learning more meaningful. In order to effectively teach the Common Core Standards and to prepare our students for a technology-based future we need to have access to cutting edge resources. Unfortunately, our classroom has very outdated computers which makes if very difficult to open many educational websites.
This computer will also allow us to be able to watch videos or install other educational software which is helpful to enhance learning.
By donating to our class you will be helping my students have access to a variety of online enhancements to support our common core curriculum.
We will be able to watch live clips, talk to students all over the world, and connect to exciting learning opportunities in all subject areas. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us.
