Commentary Clothing For GSA

Help me give my students a fun and impactful GSA club experience by supporting us with materials for our next project!

My Project

Mr. Schiffern and I have loved being the advisors of our GSA club. We are hoping for our next project to be the creation of 'commentary clothing'. In this, students will be asked to think about what it means to make a statement in their attire. Then, the club will brainstorm to create t-shirts representing a statement that they would like to make. For GSA students, this may include a statement about gender identity/expression, pronouns, stereotypes, LGBTQ+-centered interests, and more. I have a Cricut machine and iPad that we will use to create the designs, we just need t-shirts and vinyl to complete the project.

Through this, students will gain a better understanding of what it means to advocate, express their identity, as well as make a bold statement.

This will support students' confidence in their own identities, as well as valuing and validating others' identities.
