My students are creative, kind and always up for a new challenge. They come from a variety of backgrounds and live in a close-knit community. Most of my students have attended this school since kindergarten, so they have a strong pride in their school.
Kainalu believes in developing a love of learning and a desire to solve problems.
My students take pride in their work, and treat others with kindness. They like to stay involved in helping their school be the best it can be by taking part in school service activities or clubs, such as JPO, Morning News, Student Council and Kokua Team.
My Project
Flexible seating options are important in my class, as students often have to move their chairs to sit with varying groups for a variety of purposes. Those purposes include small group work, work with the teacher, independent work, class debates and circle time. The current chairs we have are aging, breaking rapidly and too small for the average 6th grader.
New chairs would bring a renewed sense of happiness and pride in our classroom.
Students will be more comfortable and therefore more likely to enjoy learning and being at school. They will benefit physically, academically and socially from new chairs.
