For the last couple of years, I have been trying to make my classroom a more comfortable space. With a heavier emphasis on reading in the curriculum, I am looking to provide a space that welcomes students and provides books for them in the target language. If this project is fully funded, students will see a cozy corner right when they walk into my room complete with 2 reading chairs, a bookshelf full of Spanish novels, a coffee table to set their drinks (and maybe even phones), all on a cozy rug covered in pillows.
I envision this space in the corner of my room where students can relax and unwind and maybe even read a book in the process.
