This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 29 kindergarten students who are so incredibly full of life. They come in every day eager to learn. They are the most deserving students . . . incredibly sweet and always thinking of others.

I strive to create a warm, inviting atmosphere that is both comfortable and fun.

Being only 5 or 6 years old, my students need a place that is lively. A place that is fun. A place that makes them feel comfortable as soon as they enter. I would love to turn my plain, boring classroom into a space that is age appropriate for little ones.

My Project

Many of my kindergarten students are coming to school for the first time and they need to feel comfortable and feel as though they are in their second home. The pillows and chairs will be used in multiple ways. They will be used during our reading time, centers and playtime. The carpet will give the students a cozy place to rest and lie down as they are reading and having play time.

I am hoping to give my classroom a homey feeling, to make it a place where they feel comfortable coming to school every day, and to make learning more exciting for my five and six year old students.
