This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the most amazing and diverse group of kinders! We are a neighborhood school in a Title I district with a high percentage of children from low-income families. However, this does not stop them from always trying their best, or going above and beyond in the classroom community.
"I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand."
Kindergartners are curious about their surroundings and soak up information like a sponge. I want to give them everything I can to help them experience what they need to understand their world.
My Project
My kindergarten students would love a comfy, cozy, cool rug for our gathering area. Right now, they are gathering on the cold floor and it is not comfortable for little ones. A nice, new, soft rug would help to foster their love of learning by allowing them to be able to sit in our gathering area comfortably! They would be able to sit and enjoy an interactive lesson in the front of the room, and would be able to choose sitting here when reading independently or with their peers! Having a cozy gathering area would make it possible for them to learn together and make positive memories as they learn to read that they will cherish for years to come!
