Comfy Corner

Help me give my students an area where they are able to use the bean bag chairs to comfortably decompress and relax with our school therapy dog.

My Project

As a middle school teacher, I have many students who utilize the therapy dog that resides in my room. Multiple students have access to the therapy dog during class time, but others need a separate space to decompress. The alternative place is currently boring, unwelcoming, and just plain uncomfortable.

By providing a carpet, bean bag chairs, and a small end table, I am able to give students a comfortable, soothing environment separate from stressors.

This not only helps the mental health of my students, but this set space would be designated solely for this intent. Therefore, would always be available to students when they need a moment to take a break and regroup so they can better focus on their studies with a calmer mindset.

The hope is to always have this space available for students in need throughout the school building.
