My Project

I got the amazing opportunity to be a part of a cohort of 70ish other educators in my district. As part of the cohort, I was given an amazing package of BRAND NEW classroom furniture that can be used flexibly. I cannot wait for my students to walk into a classroom that is designed especially with them in mind.

There is one big elephant in the room though...my classroom carpet.

My poor carpet has seen many, many students' shoes and snacks. It has seen better days. It also sticks out like a sore thumb in my room with the bright primary colors.

I want to provide my students with a new classroom carpet, and a new classroom library rug. Since I am fully diving into flexible seating this year, having a comfortable place to meet whole group is so important. There will be a lot of collaboration and I have found that a lot of students prefer to grab a clipboard and work on the carpet. The classroom library is also a popular space in my room. I want to provide students with a fun spot to lie down with a book!
