My Students
I moved from rural, upstate New York and now teach 4th grade in rural South Carolina. The students I teach have taught me countless things about the southern culture, including the delicious food! While the areas of the country are very different, the kids are very similar. They are eager to learn through hands on, group activities, and can light up the room with their personalities!
Our classroom is an energetic, dynamic community where students learn through discussion and activities as much as possible.
We focus on things that can be completed at school because their are many obstacles to overcome while completing work at home.
My Project
My classroom of 4th graders and I believe that you are never too old to be read to! They love to gather on the carpet to read with a partner, follow along in book that I am reading, or even be read to!
Having a comfortable place to gather as an entire class would further promote the positive learning community that we already have in place.
As you know, carpets are a worthwhile investment, but the purchase of one large enough for an entire class of 4th graders is not easy. Please consider helping us build our classroom community be providing a space for the entire class to gather for reading!
