Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to be comfortable while they work on their post-secondary plans and goals. We have one seat currently that is more comfortable than the desk and chair combination that is standard in the room. We would love to make the comfortable corner, set up for working, reflecting, and social-emotional learning support more welcoming for a few students to enjoy at a time.

My students are faced with a full day of classes and sitting in the same sort of hard-backed chairs for much of their day, so they will really appreciate the comfort of these chairs.

We only have one seat in the corner of the room that is set up for reflection, as a calming and comfortable space for students to cope with stress, work on the reflection type of work that my curriculum asks for, and use calming strategies that we have set up for them in this corner should they need to de-stress or calm their nerves.
