Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager, motivated, and positive learners. They take pride in applying their knowledge right away and in expanding their knowledge. They attend a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students come from a variety of different economic and social backgrounds.
No matter their backgrounds, we are one team and one family striving to learn!
We support each other, spread kindness in and out of the classroom, and congratulate others on their successes.
My students know that mistakes allow them to learn and to never give up! They know that through hard work and perseverance, goals can be achieved. It is my goal to make my students know they are valuable, make them lifelong learners, and instill a commitment to learning and success.
My Project
I want to create an environment that can support and encourage a love of learning and reading. During classwork and independent work, my students currently sit on chairs at their desks or on the carpet. They need a sense of comfort to build a homelike classroom rapport. These flexible seating products will promote choice, comfort, engagement, and a sense of belonging in the classroom!
My students will benefit from the flexible seating options because they will have control of their learning.
This will help instill a classroom culture of independence and self-motivation. The seating options will encourage my students to take initiative for their learning and allow them to focus.
All learners are different, and they all need options to their learning. The soft seats and wobble cushions will allow students to mobilize their learning by choosing where to use it. The comfy floor seats and the storage bench will be used in our classroom library area to encourage students to read and instill the enjoyment in reading. The leveled library storage cart will help keep our books organized and, at the same time, provide the ability for reading to be accessed in any part of the classroom thus creating multiple areas to read. These items would help students by providing a comfortable place and would make learning fun anywhere in the classroom!
