My Project
Creating this space in my room is essential for several reasons. I want to give my students in grades 9-12 an area where they feel comfortable and safe to grow their literacy skills and collaborate in small groups. I teach Economics, Civics, AP Government and Politics, and History Through Literature, so there are many opportunities for discussions and working together in a comfortable environment. I also require my students to read for the first 10 minutes of class, no matter the subject, to improve literacy skills. I also would love a safe and comfortable space where students can decompress if they feel overwhelmed or have a particularly tough day.
