This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a wonderful groups of students who are excited to learn and show their love for reading. With a group of kids who have many needs in the social emotional area, having a comfortable place to sit to enjoy a book or sit in their calming corner to help regulate their emotions will greatly help. I currently have a calming corner for the many students who have a rough time regulating their emotions. I however do not have many sensory calming items or comfortable seating. I want my classroom environment to feel safe and inviting. Having these items will help my students feel safe and help them learn how regulate their emotions which will help them stay focused and be ready to learn.

The reading manipulatives and games will help my students strengthen their reading skills.

They are doing such a great job and having these items will help them improve even more and become more confident in their reading skills!
