This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are readers, writers, explorers, soccer players, artists, activists, and so much more. They are committed to their education and their school community. The neighborhood where my school is located is a vibrant, largely immigrant community. Many of my students are English Language Learners who are working hard to acquire English as their second or sometimes third or fourth language!
My students are creative, lively, and curious kids.
They come to school eager to learn and engage with their classmates, teachers, school community, and beyond.
My Project
During the school year, our classroom really is a second home for our students. We want them to be able to have comfortable seating options such as Wood Designs Reading Benches and comfortable foam floor tiles for small group instruction, during independent reading, or just to take a break from the traditional desk and chair.
We believe that one of the keys to our students' success is making sure they feel comfortable in the classroom.
We are an Integrated Co-Teaching class with a diverse group of learners so we will be working in small groups throughout the year. We want to accommodate our students throughout the day by offering various seating options for small group and independent work.
