My students reside in a high-need, urban community with a large percentage of English as a Second Language Learners.
My students love to read and listen to stories. I would like them to have a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the literature that is a critical part of their learning experience.
The resources that are need for my students are listening center headphones and an area rug to gather on and be able to listen to the books on CD. Making an enjoyable place to read will benefit my students and help them focus on reading comprehension. Since the carpet has the map of the United States on it, geography will be a positive factor and will be used as a learning tool in social studies lessons.
