My Project

The materials I am requesting will be utilized each and every day of learning. We never take a day off from reading; our kindergarten readers read every single day! In our new improved classrooms, we no longer have carpeted floors. Our new floors are beautiful but can be a bit uncomfortable to sit on for reading time.

Kindergarten readers are motivated by choice!

Readers can choose to sit at a table spot or on the floor for independent reading time. Each day, we work on building stamina for reading for longer periods of time. That is what good readers do!

The colorful foam mats will not only look great in our kindergarten classroom, but they will be very cozy and comfortable. We may even want to continue reading after the timer goes off! The colorful foam mats add more choice and will be a huge motivator when it comes time to read. I am very excited to add these to our classroom.
