Comfortable, Collaborative, Age Appropriate Classroom Tables for My First Graders
Help me give my students a comfortable, collaborative, age appropriate seating option. I currently have old desks that are un-level, peeling, and too large for first graders.

My Project
During Covid restrictions, our classroom tables were replaced with a hodgepodge of old, un-level, age inappropriate, large desks in order to maintain distance between students. These desks are uncomfortable for little bodies, take up a lot of space in the classroom, and do not lend themselves to cooperative learning.
My goal is to replace these broken desks with round, adjustable height tables in order to facilitate group learning and free up space in the classroom for books and alternative learning spaces.
My school serves a diverse group of students with varied needs and backgrounds. The students represent thirty-two countries and speak more than twenty-five languages. Compared to other schools in the district, our school has the highest percentage of students who speak a language other than English. Due to our international population, we emphasize global awareness and multicultural education.
