My Project
A classroom rug is a vital component of the classroom. It provides a comfortable place for students to engage in learning through listening and interacting with others. The chair allows students to see me while they are on the carpet.
When students gather together as a class on the classroom rug, various skills are developed, and connections within the classroom family are fostered.
Unfortunately, our rug has been well-loved this year and needs to be replaced. The chair has also been well-used over the years and is extremely wobbly.
Carpet time supports the academic and social-emotional development of early learners. Each class period, our mini-lesson for the day takes place here. This happens 5 or 6 times daily. It is also where groups of students work in centers. This rug will provide a welcoming environment for current and future students.
