I am requesting a wide variety of classroom materials to help my students feel comfortable, help with classroom management, and meet individual student needs. For example, I have requested toys and fidgets to help the students take breaks from learning and also incorporate learning into play.
I hope to fill the classroom with good books that teach respect for objects and others and manipulatives that encourage play as a vehicle for learning.
I want chimes and timers to help keep track of time gently and create a peaceful environment. Kindergarteners are busy and love to know exactly where to put their hands and what to do with them. I hope to have many options for them to use their senses, fine motor, and significant motor skills.
