My Students
My students come from a variety of backgrounds. A low income neighborhood where generational poverty is unfortunately the norm. My students deserve to have opportunities that are equal to students that have much more than they do. My students deserve the world. This hard time has taken a real toll on my students. They are attempting to learn from home, with siblings, computers that are outdated, working parents, and many other distractions. BUT we are starting in person learning again in February. Which will come with a whole new set of challenges. I do my best to give them the tools to overcome their hardships and have a successful future.
Despite the hardships, my students always come to school with smiles on their faces and questions to ask.
They are eager to be part of the learning. They are constantly asking questions and promoting much deeper thinking. School is often the only safe and fun place for my students to be. When When my students are here, I know they are in a safe, positive environment, where they will get at least two meals a day.
My Project
Please help my students get the materials that they need to safely return to the classroom.
Due to COVID-19, these special supplies are needed to help keep my students safe when they return to the classroom and keep them healthy.
Extra masks for children who don't have them or when there are accidents, water bottles (since fountains are not an option), a binder set up to help students start fresh and for transporting small items to and from school, are essential and will all make this transition easier.
I want to make sure that I am doing everything that I can to keep my students safe and healthy during this difficult time at school.
