My Students
My classroom is a place of exploration and discovery of the world around us! These first graders all come with their own personalities and backgrounds and one of the best ways we can learn is through collaboration and positive communication.
Oh, the places we will go!
Throughout the year my students will problem-solve in the land of math, explore our amazing world through science, write about our opinions and the facts we have learned, and read every minute that we can! My students constantly strive to absorb as much information as possible and they learn best in a classroom that provides them with the tools they may need to continue exploring.
My Project
One of my first priorities as a teacher is my students' comfort. Right now, I have an older rug that was made for kindergarten-sized students.
A newer carpet, for my first grade students, would provide them with larger spots to sit throughout the year.
My students grow so much in first grade and this rug will give them the room to grow without feeling cramped. Additionally, this rug will enable me to provide my students with more flexible seating in my classroom. Students can use the rug as a seating option during rotations, silent reading, and group projects.
