This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My current group of 2nd graders have never had a normal school year. Kindergarten came to a sudden stop with the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and then a majority spent 75% of 1st grade learning remotely. I want to give my current and future students the chance to have fun in school while also being comfortable and creative in what they are learning.
Students learn best by being hands-on in the material that they are learning and by being comfortable in their learning environment.
This project will give students the chance to be hands on, have fun, and be comfortable in the classroom.
Students deserve the chance to explore things that interest them. Something that I look forward to having in my classroom in the future is morning tubs. Where students can come in and get a tub that has something that peaks their interest. Whether that is the sensory beads, magna tiles, or the translucent imagination builders they will be beginning their day with exploration and creativity.
All other materials in this project will be used to provide additional practice in what students are learning in reading, and math lessons.
