Comfort Learning

My students need four comfort foam pillows to help complete their flexible seating. Students love to sit at the low, floor level tables and these pillows allow them a comfortable means to do so.

My Students

A majority of my fifth grade students have always lived in the Pass Christian area located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Therefore, they have experienced much of their learning outside using tactile, hands on methods. They are always seeking new ways to learn and apply their previous knowledge.

These students have experienced triumphs and failures already in life, and each time they leave the situation that much more ready to conquer their life purpose.

I truly believe these children will impact society in wonderful ways as they continue to grow.

My Project

My students currently have all flexible seating in our classroom; however, we are missing a few essentials such as large floor pillows for our low-level tables. Students love the opportunity to sit on the floor and be able to stretch out, but they still need four pillows to provide maximum comfort.

The laps desks are needed for our bean bag chairs which are another favorite seating option for the students.

They currently use clip boards but these are not providing maximum work space for students. They desire something larger that they can hold close to them and complete their work on.

My students also benefit from flexible seating during centers. Centers provide movement and opportunities for differentiation. Therefore, the small envelopes allow students to have their task cards and other materials neatly organized so they can complete the tasks.
