Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are brilliantly resilient scholars who come from immigrant, blue-collar households close to downtown LA. Many of them attend school year-round to catch up on reading and writing skills. These students tirelessly work toward fluency in English while continuing to persevere through the struggles of their community.

The culture we are promoting at our school is college readiness through the use of strategies such as physical organization, note-taking, and paraphrasing.

Students are called to be leaders in their community and use their critical thinking skills to help better our communities! Students show up every day ready to tackle the day's objectives and build community with one another.

My Project

These students will help my students start the school year feeling loved and supported physically so that they can feel stress-free and prepared for school. Items such as period kits, hair ties, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and lotion help students feel fulfilled in their hygiene and physical health.

Many of our parents are unable to keep up with their growing children's needs, these items will help them along with their maturing bodies.
