Comfort Corner Created from COVID Chaos

Help me give my students a comfortable place to retreat to and materials to develop social emotional wellness when the school day becomes overwhelming.

My Project

As educators, we knew how our students would suffer academically from COVID. Many were unprepared for the social emotional toll this pandemic would take on our learners. I would like to create a space in my classroom where students can retreat to regain focus and emotional well being so that they can continue their learning with the least amount of disruption to themselves or others.

My comfort corner will not only provide my 3rd graders with a designated physical place to decompress, but also give them tools they need to manage their behaviors.

The bean bag chairs on a rug of clouds will help create this calming space.
