My Project

As a first-year Kindergarten teacher in a Title I school, I am committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for my young learners. The basic essentials and engaging materials I’ve requested in this project will enhance both the physical space of the classroom and the quality of student learning.

Items like the teepee will serve as a calm-down corner—providing students with a safe, comforting space when they feel overwhelmed or emotionally distressed.

This will support their emotional regulation and sense of security in the classroom.

The visuals and classroom supplies listed will help create a warm and inviting atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging and pride. A visually appealing classroom also boosts engagement and participation.

Additionally, the Lakeshore Math Folder Game Libraries – K–Gr. 1 Complete Set will be an essential resource for building foundational math skills through hands-on, differentiated, and self-directed activities. These games will not only reinforce key concepts such as number recognition, counting, and early operations but also promote cooperative learning and critical thinking in a fun and developmentally appropriate way.

Together, these materials will help transform my classroom into a place where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn every day.
