This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each day, my students face challenges before they enter the school building, ranging from extreme poverty, single-parent households where the parent works multiple jobs, students with incarcerated parents, and many students who live in shelters. 

My office has students coming in and out all throughout the day and the range of emotions that my students express are so varied at any given time.

Having a pet rabbit in my office to sooth students would help calm and support my students during troubling times.

My Project

I am a middle school social worker in the South Bronx seeking funding for supplies for a comfort rabbit to have in my counseling suite.

My students are full of emotions ranging from grief, anger, depression, and neglect from situations at home and having a soft furry pet for them to hold while expressing their feeling will help them remain calm and comforted.

We have adopted a bunny to help students relax during times of distress.

Keeping the rabbit supplied with food, bedding, and a cage is where I need support. I am looking for your generous donations to help with maintenance supplies.

I have students earn rewards to be a "Bunny Ambassador " for the week. During this week they are responsible for feeding and cleaning the cage of our Comfort Bunny, King
