I teach in a self contained style preschool classroom. My students are aged 3-5 with disabilities that impact their ability to engage in a typically developing classroom. This being said, my classroom is adapted to meet their needs and how they learn.
Like their typical peers, my students love to engage in art, manipulatives, outdoor/ gross motor play, blocks and music.
My students learn through hands on learning and an environment that meets their needs. They benefit from sensory support and adult facilitation to be successful in the classroom setting.
I get to teach some of the greatest students but I cannot do it alone. Having support is critical!
My Project
My children are curious, adventurous and playful. They enjoy exploration and play especially with cause and effect toys on the floor. Our old rug has seen better days. Given that my children are young and are still learning, they often crawl,or lay down on the floor while engaging in toys. I'd love to provide a cleaner, soft space for them to engage. Pete the Cat (the theme of the carpet) is a favorite character which will increase language and fun in my little ones lives.
My student's are learning daily so tracking this growth is imperative!
Because all of my student's require specially designed instruction, I need to keep detailed and specific documentation of their skill development. I would love to better organize my student's IEP data sheets in a more efficient manner. Having an electronic 3 hole punch so that I can easily sort their data would be helpful and allow me to save time!
