My Students
My students consist of 12 Special ed students 8 boys and 4 girls. I am looking for tools in-order to build the strongest foundation possible for them. I have a variety of students who come from well diverse backgrounds. My students come to school with an amazing attitude and excited to learn, however are often lacking the essential tools needed to have a successful learning experience. Their eagerness to learn is what drives me to create projects that I know will help them be successful in the future.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to learn in an environment suitable for their needs. The ability to choose where they will learn in the classroom will be essential in their success in the classroom. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students have limited choices, their desk or the rug! We need your help expanding our options. Ensuring students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. Its been proven in the special education community that students thrive when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, they are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.

The seats that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The cushions are not only colorful and comfortable will also allow students to sit and learn from a different perspective than their at desk. Thank you
