My Project
The items I am requesting will significantly enhance my students' learning experiences in several ways. Flexible seating options like hokki stools and floor chairswill empower students by providing them with choice in creating their ideal learning environment, accommodating their individual preferences and sensory needs. Noise-canceling headphones will ensure an uninterrupted learning experience, allowing students to focus without distractions. A class set of working headphones, along with spares, is essential for enabling my students to engage with digital platforms without disrupting their peers. This access to online resources is crucial for supporting differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Additionally, splitters will facilitate collaborative work, enabling students to access the same content simultaneously and engage in meaningful discussions as partners or small groups.
My overarching goal for this project is to provide my students with the tools they need to feel supported and fully engaged in their learning every day.
Flexible seating options will empower students to take ownership of their learning environment, fostering a sense of agency and independence. Noise-canceling headphones will create an optimal learning environment for all students, allowing some to work quietly while others engage in conversation without disturbing their peers. With equitable access to functional headphones, all my students can effectively utilize digital platforms and online instructional resources. Furthermore, the collaborative opportunities facilitated by splitters will not only enhance academic learning but also develop students' oral language skills through meaningful discourse.
My students possess diverse learning needs, including ADHD, autism, anxiety, OCD, and sensory sensitivities. Despite these challenges, they thrive when provided with opportunities for choice and independence in their learning. By providing access to comfort and concentration tools, I can create an inclusive learning environment that supports each student's unique needs and learning style.
