My Students
Every day in our classroom is full of fun, excitement, and eager students ready to learn. We start each day gathered together in the front of the room. It is there we engage in a meaningful conversation about where we are, where we are going, and how we are going to get there.
Our students come from a large yet rural military community with a variety of different social and cultural backgrounds.
Many of our students also come from economically disadvantaged homes, and will attend several different elementary schools. Even with major obstacles and instability in their way our students are eager learners, and are excited about their future.
My Project
As we begin each day, we discus learning targets and goals. With a new rug to sit on, the students will have a designated location in the classroom that is cozy and comfortable. The students will also use the space to collaborate and complete small group projects. Finally it will be a great place to listen to stories, and participate in shared reading activities.
A classroom carpet will help to create an engaging learning environment, provide a location for smooth transitions, and give students a location to set personal goals and learning targets.
