This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have twenty-five amazing 3rd grade students that show up to class eager to learn, despite the challenges they are faced with both in and out of the classroom. Our school is a low income Title 1 that offers free breakfast and lunch to all children. My students have a wide variety of learning styles and levels, all of which deserve the best education possible. Every student in my classroom is unique and everyone in the room respects each other. I care about my students and they know it!
My goal as a bilingual teacher is to encourage my students to love learning and to develop lifelong independent learners.
I especially love that my students try their best on everything that comes their way. They love to read and enjoy hands-on activities. They are great helpers and I know I can count on them. Every day, I make sure to instill good qualities that will make them amazing citizens. I want my students to remember me when they grow up, so I make them feel welcome, safe, and important on a daily basis!
My Project
Our financial literacy unit is coming up in our 3rd grade Math curriculum, and I would love to transform our classroom into a carnival to make learning fun and unforgettable for my students. I will use the carnival themed decorations to decorate our classroom. Students will work in groups to answer questions from the task cards I am requesting and earn points to play games as they move from station to station.
I want to teach my students the proper money management skills that they can use throughout their lives!
The play money set and and bingo are great resources that will make learning fun and keep my students engaged. The items included in this project will be reused throughout the entire year and as we prepare for state testing. I am very excited for our first classroom transformation to be come a reality. I know my students deserve this and they will be forever thankful to have this take place in our classroom. Thank you for your support.
