This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"What up Mrs. G!?" This is what I hear every day as I greet my students at the door. My students look forward to coming to Math class because they are motivated to learn and want to make an effort to improve. Most of my students come from low income families and want to prove that they can become something and be a leader. By the end of class they are walking out the door saying, "Have a good night Mrs. G!
My Project
My students are very competitive when it comes to math. To reach all of my students needs, I use a variety of strategies in my class. In class, we use white boards, games, manipulatives, and incorporate art projects. Like most Middle School students, my students LOVE to compete against each other. When they do this, learning goes to the next level and all students want to be on top! I would like to reward and motivate students by allowing them to pick a healthy snack as an incentive. My school is a low-income school and some of my students often state that they are hungry.
