Come Grow With Me Into The New Year!

Help me give my students three end tables to store our diverse read aloud books, a new soap dispenser and attire for celebrating winter celebrations.

My Project

My children come from all different cultural backgrounds. They are young and not familiar with most of these cultures and traditions. My children would benefit not only learning about their own culture but also about the cultures of others as well. Our community is very diverse and expanding their knowledge of American culture and other traditions like Lunar New Year would directly impact the learning that takes place in our classroom. While learning about Lunar New Year children will learn about the tradition of starting the year off with new and clean beginnings. This brings me to our need for a new soap dispenser as ours broke and we can no longer refill it. We are also in need of three new end tables to store our diverse library books from Rising Voices. These books have a home in the reading nook which had three tables which recently became wobbly and unsafe and a cute little couch. The children love sitting on the couch and enjoy reading and looking at the books in this collection.

Teaching children about diversity and the importance of making a difference is crucial in fostering a more inclusive, empathetic, and compassionate society.

By exposing my little stars to various cultures and experiences allowing them to dress up for different events will help them learn to appreciate differences and embrace the richness that diversity brings.
