This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Make a circle with a friend on your side." My little kiddies need a new, soft, comfy carpet they can sit on and learn. Our current carpet has been in our classroom for the past five years and has endured many an accident.
My students come from different backgrounds but are mainly free lunch recipients.
They are smart and they know it! They are the smartest three to five year olds in the city. They are precocious and keep me accountable for teaching them everyday! They all know that if they work hard their brains grow.
My Project
A new carpet will allow my students to learn a lot more. Just by sitting down they will work on personal space usage. A new lined carpet also teaches one to one correspondence and reinforces how to sit in straight lines. A new clean carpet will also give the students pride in their learning environment because it teaches them to keep their environment clean.
Our current carpet is so old and dirty that there are sections that are unusable.
To improvise we only use certain spots on the carpet but this leads to bumps and arguments between friends. A new carpet will allow us to sit down quickly and get to learning!
