My students need Bullying in Schools books, 3 Nook Simple Touch Readers, and various books to enhance our classroom library and combat bullying.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it feels like to be faced with the school "bully"? I do...not good! My hope is stomp out bullying all together with these new resources. I also hope to empower my students to live every day as the best version of themselves possible!
Teaching my students to live every day as the best version of themselves is crucial.
The neighborhood they are growing up is filled with negative influences and if I can build their self confidence and empower them to stand up for the right thing now they will be prepared to face the peer pressure in middle school and continue on their individual journeys toward successful futures!
I teach in a Title I school with 96% of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch program in an urban neighborhood. My students are amazing thinkers with great potential, but they are growing up in an area of high poverty and high crime. The school we spend our days in is filled with caring teachers who put their heart and soul into creating learning experiences for all students that will help them each reach their full potential. As a teacher here, we often spend large amounts of our personal money buying materials, including books for our classrooms.
My Project
This project is filled with resources the Bullying In Schools books, various books, & Nook Simple Touch Readers that will encourage students to make respectful choices, treat others how they wish to be treated, allow students to discuss bullying in a very safe environment and enhance their literacy skills!
With these resources, I hope to create respectful students who will go out into the world and be the positive role models for future generations. I also hope to create the future "change makers" by inspiring my students (present and future) to make the right choices because they are THE RIGHT choices, not because some one is watching. I hope to instill the idea that "Good character is a part of everyday living, not just something to do when someone else is watching you!"
