This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Despite some of the challenges they face in and around their environment, every year my students come to school excited, full of life, and eager to learn.

I am back to teaching Pre-K this year.

This year will be very different due to COVID-19. I will serve approximately 19-24 students for the 2020-2021 school year with a wide range of abilities, needs, and concerns. My students are in a low income/high poverty school in which more than 80% of the students receive free or reduced-price meals.

When children have a strong foundation of learning, they are able to stay on track to remain in school, graduate, and pursue post-secondary education and training to successfully transition into adulthood.

Children make my classroom their home for however long they stay and miss it dearly when they move on. No matter who enters through my classroom doors, they become part of our school family. So this year, I want to make my students as safe as possible in the classroom and provide items to help them during remote learning.

My Project

During work stations, I am able to see students in small groups while other students to work independently. I have found so many great resources for independent stations on Teachers Pay Teachers, but they are very boring in black and white! I normally have to use my home printer to print parent weekly bulletins, conduct charts, pictures of students and their work, small group manipulatives, independent work station (math and literacy) activities, student assessment reports, report cards, etc.

Our printer broke and we need a new one because having a color printer in the classroom is awesome as we are outside of the school in a portable.

That is why I request your support to purchase an instant ink printer (HP Envy 7855 Wireless All-in-One Printer).

A Geek Squad® Product Replacement Plan will enhance and extend the manufacturer warranty and give me peace of mind if the printer isn't working properly. If the printer fails for an issue that is covered by Best Buy but the manufacturer doesn't, they will replace the printer. This is very important as ours is broken now and if it would have had this service, it could have been replaced.

The black and tri-color cartridges requested will make learning more fun, engaging, and interesting for my students.

The colorful work stations will allow me to reach students on a different level. I would love to be able to bring these stations to life with the convenience of printing in the classroom! My geometry teacher always used to say, "Colors are wonderful!" Now that I am a teacher myself, I understand what she meant.

The materials will help the students with math and literacy skills. This project will be beneficial to my students this year and students in the coming years!
