This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In first grade, a lot of the learning time for students is when they get to practice skills they have learned when they are doing independent or small group activities. Students look forward to doing "stations" because not only are they a learning tool, but they are also engaging. Most of the stations in our class are activities that I print for students to use. Many of them have pictures and icons to make the activity more engaging.

By donating to this project, you will help me be able to print out the games and activities in color, which will help to make the activities easier to understand and make them even more engaging for students.

My students are very excited about the skills they are gaining in reading and math. I see how excited they are when they get to practice those skills using the game or activity that is more colorful. Having the color printer and ink will ensure that students will have bright, engaging activities to use more often, and will lead to greater development and retention of skills.

We are also requesting over the ear headphones so that students can listen and read along to books on their Chromebook. This will help students be able to focus on the story and cancel out some of the noise from the classroom.
