Colors, Colors, Colors, OH MY!

My students need materials and manipulatives for centers and small group work by having a color printer and laminating machine for the class.

My Students

My students are in kindergarten and are vibrant and full of life! My classroom is bilingual and with that comes a variety of cultures and new opportunities. They come from a low-economic area in Ohio. Even though there can be many challenges, my students are eager to come to school and learn in a safe environment.

My goal is to help my students grow their passion for learning.

I want them to feel confident in themselves and to persevere. Life skills are just as important to me as academics and that is what I want to instill in my students.

My Project

My school is lacking in technology and does not have a color printer for staff members to use. I am a very creative teacher and love making games, newsletters(to communicate with parents), signs, posters, stationary for writing, etc. I am unable to make some of these things because it will not work in black and white. Some things need to be made in color.

I want my classroom to be a colorful and exciting environment!

To do this, I am asking for a color printer to keep in the classroom. I will be able to create wonderful manipulatives for my students to use in workshop(such as sorts, file folder games, phonics games, math games, etc), creative newsletters(for parent communication), and colorful signs and anchor charts for my student to use during learning. My students also use abcmouse.com and starfall.com. They would love to print their creations in the classroom in color! This would open the door to doing classroom projects where students can create and print their own stories, stationaries, and games. I also asked for a laminator, so I can preserve the items that my students and I create. These items are essential to have for the educational profession.
