Coloring Outside the Lines: Learning the Power of Color
I need enrollment in a color certification course led by Pantone’s Leatrice Eiseman to deepen my understanding of color theory and bring expert knowledge back to my elementary art students.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
By taking this course with Leatrice Eiseman, I’ll gain an advanced understanding of color theory, psychology, and design, which will allow me to refine my approach to teaching color in the classroom. Color is not just a tool for creating art—it's a powerful means of self-expression and emotional exploration. I’ll be able to better guide my students in exploring color combinations, understanding how colors affect emotions, and creating more intentional, expressive artwork. This professional development will not only improve my own practice but will also support my students' social-emotional learning by helping them recognize how color can reflect their moods and feelings. With this knowledge, I can inspire my students to experiment, make bolder choices, and express themselves more thoughtfully and confidently through their artwork.
