My Students

My students are native speakers of Spanish. Some are born here as first generation students and others come from around the world. I have had students from Venezuela, Colombia, Spain, Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Cuba, Nicaragua, Mexico - almost every Spanish speaking country. Some students also come from dual language classes and Spanish is not their first language and their parents do not speak Spanish.

They are rich in culture and experiences.

They are willing to share and help one another be successful in this country.

My Project

Students today are craving calmness. One tool to create calmness has been coloring. These coloring books will give them the opportunity to relieve stress when they pushed to their limits. Quiet time and coloring will help them refocus and decompress from the craziness of the hallways and the cafeteria. Coloring will bring them concentration to continue their day and to do well and excel to the best of their abilities. They appreciate all activities that are calming and different and not strictly academic. This is a form of indoor recess for middle schoolers who seem to never get a break.
