My students need a color printer to print out STEAM projects that they have completed in the classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a class of 21 fifth graders at a low socioeconomic school in Houston. Many come from non-English speaking families that have only one income. Our school is a Title I school and the majority of my students are on free or reduced-price lunch. Many do not have access outside of school to books or technology.
Despite these drawbacks, my students are anxious to learn.
They enjoy reading and learning about new places, especially places that they will probably not ever visit.
My Project
Our school is concentrating on STEAM this year, science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Because of this emphasis, our students will be completing a variety of projects on the computer and they will need to have the ability to print their projects in color.
Many of the projects we will work on this year include designing structures and making posters and flyers advertising their products.
In order to be eye catching, the students need color prints to give pizzazz to their work. We will hang our completed projects in the hallway, and we want others to stop and think that our project are real things, not just student work.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
