Colorful Sight Words Brighten and Differentiated the Goals

Help me give my students color differentiated sight words so they can chase the rainbow to learn their sight words.

My Project

The needs of my first graders never discourages their willingness to learn. I am at a Title 1 school so the majority of out student population is low income. By providing them with vibrant, colorful cardstock my goal is to differentiate the levels and encourage them to reach their fullest potential. The cardstock will make a significant difference in our classroom by allowing me to create colorful, durable sight word activities and individual sight word packs for each student to study. As they master each level I offer prized which always brightens their day. We all enjoy a little positive encouragement.

Sight words are critical for early literacy as they help students recognize high frequency words that are not decodable.

By using color to highlight and categorize these words, I can create visual connections that make learning more effective and enjoyable.

The cardstock paper will ensure the materials I create—such as flashcards, word walls, and games—are sturdy and long-lasting, giving my students access to high-quality resources all year long. I can design vibrant, engaging sight word activities and materials that capture my students' attention and support their literacy development.

This project will benefit all first graders at my school. Also, they are durable enough to be used repeatedly as this will help build fluency and reading skills for so many amazing students
