This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my art room, students learn how to create quite a bit of mixed media art. Sharpie markers are waterproof unlike the Crayola washable markers. When children enter my room, it is quite warm due to lack of air conditioning and also being right next to the cafeteria. Their little hands sweat onto their artwork so to avoid the smears and constant paper replacements, I start my students young with using a waterproof permanent marker. We always start with crayons and move into more advanced lessons involving a lot of color using the markers.
