Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located in an inner city neighborhood. Most of the students have 2 working parents and many speak a second language at home. The neighborhood our school is located in is a diverse, urban setting.
My students are eager young learners.
This school year will be their first exposure to a large public school. The children speak another language at home and are economically challenged. Most students get free lunch.
My students deserve to start their academic careers with as many opportunities as I can provide for them. The are curious and creative. They are full of questions and constantly exploring the world around them.
My Project
The shape materials, magnetic shapes, color sorting items and shape tissue paper will allow my students to learn their shapes and colors. These shape and color materials will help my students learn to sort, organize, classify and describe shapes and colors. My students will learn as they play in centers.
Learning through play.
Students in my class will play with these shape and color materials to help them learn many new math and science concepts. Students will create colorful art and various shape projects. These shape and color center materials will help my students develop their fine motor skills. My students love to play with new colorful and engaging center materials.
